The World Food Programme (WFP) is the food aid arm of the United Nations system. It provides relief, rehabilitation and development assistance. In this region WFP is present in Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. In Thailand, WFP purchases rice and other foodstuffs for its operations in the region and worldwide. WFP's current purchases in Thailand are worth some US$ 15 million a year.
