Description: This training manual is a curriculum designed for health managers. The curriculum is divided into two sections. The first section is aimed at the facilitator. It clearly outlines how to run the course, from target audience to energizers to teaching methods. The second section contains six modules, gender, determinants of health, reproductive rights, evidence, policy, health systems. Each module outlines session guidelines and provides lecture notes and handouts. Reproductive health is the substantive focus of the course and forms the basis of all the case material, examples and exercises. The goals of this manual are to build institutional capacity in training centers around the world so they can offer regionally appropriate, high quality training in gender and reproductive health covering aspects of research, service delivery and policy development and to increase the number of programme managers, planners, policy makers, and trainers with both a gender perspective on reproductive health and the technical skills needed to contribute to increasing access, quality and comprehensiveness of gender sensitive reproductive health policies and programming.
