What and Who is UN/LESA?
- UN/LESA is an acronym for United Nations Local Expatriate Spouse Association.
- In our case, Local stands for Bangkok, Thailand.
- According to UN guidelines, a UN/LES-Association should be created in field duty stations and at headquaters.
- All UN field duty stations in Thailand are covered by our office in Bangkok.
- The aim of UN/LESA is to support its members in the search for employment.
- This covers employment within and outside the UN System in Bangkok, Thailand.
- Every expatriate spouse from all programmes and offices affiliated with the UN can become a member of UN/LESA.
How are we going to achieve our goal?
- LESA will promote the information exchange with all UN agencies.
- We are particularly interested in discovering UN jobs which are not advertised.
- Publish all WOM (Word Of Mouth) jobs on this web site.
- Encourage UN agencies to first consider LESA professionals, before hiring external consultants.
- LESA will liaise with non-UN organizations and other international players.
- Our emphasis here is on non-governmental organizations, bilateral aid organizations, diplomatic missions and educational institutions.
If you are an UN expatriate spouse, looking for work, contact us, become a member, and help achieve our and your goal.
